When I am an old woman I shall wear purple
With a red hat which doesn’t go, and doesn’t suit me.
And I shall spend my pension on brandy and summer gloves
And satin sandals, and say we’ve no money for butter.
I shall sit down on the pavement when I’m tired
And gobble up samples in shops and press alarm bells
And run my stick along the public railings
And make up for the sobriety of my youth.
I shall go out in my slippers in the rain
And pick flowers in other people’s gardens
And learn to spit.
You can wear terrible shirts and grow more fat
And eat three pounds of sausages at a go
Or only bread and pickle for a week
And hoard pens and pencils and beermats and things in boxes.
But now we must have clothes that keep us dry
And pay our rent and not swear in the street
And set a good example for the children.
We must have friends to dinner and read the papers.
But maybe I ought to practise a little now?
So people who know me are not too shocked and surprised
When suddenly I am old, and start to wear purple.

Thanks so much for all the pre-orders on my BOOM BANDS print! It’s available for the first time ever in its original size, see pic here by @emma_scottchild who made me do cartwheels in my brain when she became the first person ever to invest in my paintings 🧡 link in bio and delivery will be early December.
Rollin’ into the weekend like...
It’s World Mental Health Day and so I thought today would be a good day to reissue my Boom Bands print. My fave piece ever and yours too I reckon as I get asked about it so much. The message behind this piece and the whole collection from my show with @houseofvansldn focused on women and their existential anxiety’s today, we work, we mother, we are getting older and keeping up in this modern age can be overwhelming. These themes are more at the forefront of my mind then ever before since having my 3rd child and I feel I am constantly checking in with my mental state and referencing back to these works of balance and hope. They are available for pre-order today from my website and delivery will be before Christmas. I’m only producing them in A2 - nice and big so they’re exactly the same as the original, and cause’ optimism needs to be shouted right? 💛
I mean... Why read it if you can feel it. #isitlegible #wip
〰️Insert motivational caption here〰️ cheers for the pic @ray_dodd

Thursday. It’s a vibe
The summers are my J A M. But I think I like the changing of the seasons the most, I’m easily bored and extremely fickle so I always totally embrace change (total opposite to my husband @smashingprops 😂❤️) I can’t be the only one enjoying this coat weather right? Ps. I’m gonna gift the original painting of my palm pool print to the most interesting/funny/weird comment below... what’s your favourite thing about autumn? Mine’s Halloween and my birthday 😜
Beau made a conscious decision to miss school today to join the #globalclimatestrike Totally 💯 her choice and a big deal because fridays are forest school, the day all the kids look forward to the most. The irony of missing a day out in nature to actually protest about saving trees is totally over her head but not mine. To me this is the most educational thing Beau will probably learn all year. So proud of her today. #naturenow #climatechange #youngstrikers
My feather coat print is featured on this amazing screen by @room_london_furniture for when your feeling modest or like a 1930s filmstar
Giving myself a high five today as my ‘Go Get Em’ print is now available online @oliverbonas 🙌🏼 I was alone and still did a funny little noise and a clap when I saw it like the proud mama I am. Of maaaaself. Yay me.
